Katie Cyphers

Katie Cyphers is a LaGrange, Georgia native. Katie attended LaGrange Academy and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. Katie then obtained a Master of Education in Theory and Practice in Teacher Education in 2008, also from the University of Tennessee. She is a devoted Vol and an active member of the Tennessee Alumni Association!

Katie serves as Camp Academia, INC.’s Director of School Systems and Special Projects. She is the primary liaison between school systems and other organizations utilizing Brainjogging.

Katie has a long-standing background with learning disabilities. She has not only studied the effects of cognitive processing on struggling readers, which has greatly aided Brainjogging’s practical application, but also spent time in middle school education and in a developmental preschool. Katie also taught in an alternative school setting.

Katie is active in several organizations specifically devoted to raising awareness about learning disabilities. She is the youngest Committee Chair for the Learning Disabilities Association of America, in addition to being a member of the International Mind, Brain and Education Society; the International Dyslexia Association; the Shepherd Center; and the Autism Society of America. Katie also fundraises through Team in Training, which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She has raised over four thousand dollars for this worthy cause – and Team in Training allows Katie to interact with many other young professionals while enjoying her favorite hobbies, training for half-marathons and triathlons!
