Fourteen years ago a group of parents put their heads together to come up with an event that would not only raise money for the Academy, but would bring the Academy Family together for a "fun" fundraiser. The first Auction was a big hit and generated over $30,000. Since then the Auctions have been an annual event and raise an average of $60,000. All of the profits of the Auction go directly into the operating budget of the school, helping to keep tuition costs down and provide the students with the best programs possible. Every year the Auction Chairman(s) develop a theme such as "Backstreet Boogie" (1998), "Recipe for Success" (2004), "Under the Big Top"(1997), "The Academy Awards" (2006), etc., and recruit parent volunteers to work on committees such as procurement, brochure, decorations, invitations and closing. Each Auction is unique, and a lot of hard work, but the camaraderie of the families and the benefit to the Academy makes the effort worthwhile.
