The Second grade participated in the Gingerbread Jubilee in Columbus, Georgia. Held at the beautiful River Mill Center and Benefitting the Children’s Miracle Network, entries from schools, corporate sponsors, groups, and individuals decked the halls and kicked off the holiday season!

The LaGrange Academy second graders constructed a gingerbread Native American scene. The children helped construct a gingerbread tipi, a tootsie roll buffalo, a marshmallow totem pole, and a tortilla canoe! The students (and some very creative parents) worked together, brainstormed wonderful ideas, and created a masterpiece of all edible items!

On Sunday November 22nd, the second grade project was given the honor of 1st place in the school division. We also were awarded a 2nd place ribbon for the People’s Choice award.

We would like to thank all of those who helped us. From donating the candy and food to driving the project (carefully) to Columbus, we appreciate all of you!
