School Counseling

The School Counseling office serves all students in Kindergarten through grade 12. It is our goal here at LaGrange Academy to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which our students can excel both academically and socially in their present as well as future endeavors. We strive to provide all students at all grade levels with knowledge and assistance in acquiring and using pertinent life skills necessary in their development as responsible citizens.

During their middle and upper school years, students of LaGrange Academy are provided with ample opportunities to serve within their community, as well as investigate other areas of life beyond graduation. Through college visits, career days, and leadership workshops, students learn more about themselves and their future goals.

The counseling office addresses the needs of our students by helping them to:

*Achieve educational success

*Develop proficiencies in career and life planning

*Acquire and apply self and social knowledge

Services provided:

*Counseling with students individually and in small groups

*Advocacy to other community programs

*Consultation with teachers, administrators, and parents

College Placement

Through self-knowledge and early skill identification, our students are able to select institutions of higher learning that fit their needs and interests. The counseling office works extensively with each student in preparing for college by working to match each individual’s desires and abilities with the right college for him or her. We realize the highly competitive nature of colleges and universities and we strive to teach our students the value of learning as they progress throughout the application and admission processes. Our desire is that both parents and students will work together to investigate their college options, making the final application process more enjoyable and meaningful during their senior year. By developing personal responsibility, our students learn that they are capable of greatness.

It is our goal that each graduate of LaGrange Academy develops a clear picture of who he or she is and what future personal accomplishments are yet to be seen!
