Reading List for Rising Fourth Graders
Summer 2008

1.      Read a minimum of three books on your reading level.  Suggested, but not required, books are listed below.

2.      Take a Reading Counts test during the first week of school.

3.      Choose one of the following activities for each book.

a.      Make a poster, at least 12 inches by 18 inches about the book.

b.      Write a letter to the author about the book

c.       Make a visual aid about the book: mobile, clay figure,                             or a shoebox scene. 

d.       Write a song or poem about the book.

4.      Be prepared to share about your book the first week of school.

Previous fourth graders have enjoyed these books.  You may choose a book on your reading level from this list or elsewhere.
