Tuition & Financial Assistance

LaGrange Academy is dedicated to making its educational experience affordable to as many residents of Troup County and the surrounding area as possible. LaGrange Academy feels very strongly that attracting a diverse student body is critical to the enrichment of our students as well as being beneficial to the school and larger community. To that end, the school charges a range of tuitions based on each family’s unique financial ability.

1st to 5th Grades: $9,170
6th and 8th Grades: $9,270
9th to 12th Grades: $9,490

New Enrollments

Once you have received an acceptance letter along with an enrollment agreement, please return your signed enrollment agreement along with the Registration fee ($500) within 10 days of the receipt of the letter and agreement.

Re-enrollments

The reenrollment deadline for current students is February 28, 2018.

  • The reenrollment registration fee of $500 must accompany the signed reenrollment agreement to reserve the student’s place in a grade for the next school year. Given strong demand for space, the Academy may void all reenrollment agreements not received by this deadline.
  • Space cannot be guaranteed after that date since the school has an obligation to advise prospective parents and students with regard to acceptance, denial, or wait list status. Some class sections may be full and closed after February 28, 2018 and students who do not reenroll on time may be placed on a waiting list.
  • The reenrollment registration fee ($500) is non-refundable and non-transferable unless the student is not placed in a class, or if the family, with the student, moves beyond the service area of LaGrange Academy prior to the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.

What Does Tuition Cover?

The total tuition includes cost for textbooks, materials, and routine activities.  Lunch is not included.  As in the past, parents may expect additional expenses/fees for:

Multi-Child Discount

Families with two enrolled students receive a 5% discount for the 2nd child

Families with three or more enrolled students receive a 10% discount for the 3rd, 4th, etc.

Tuition Financial Assistance

A family paying full tuition does not need to undertake the steps described in this section. The following explains the process for determining the financial assistance available for those families who feel it may appropriate for them.

In order to assess what a family can afford for educational costs, LaGrange Academy uses SSS by NAIS as an objective and independent third party. SSS by NAIS calculations are the baseline for our indexed tuition determinations, but we also take into consideration our school’s policies and the resources available for returning families as well as applicant families.

LaGrange Academy cannot make a tuition financial assistance determination until an application is complete and on file. Notification of determinations will be released on the same schedule as admission decision letters. Although decisions about admission and financial assistance are made at the same time, the two processes are separate. All of the financial information families provide us will be held in strict confidence and will NOT be shared with anyone outside of the Financial Aid Committee.

Complete the SSS application form online and pay the $48.00 processing fee at www.sssbynais.org/parents on NAIS’s secure website. After applying, please mail, fax or drop off the required forms including a complete 1040 tax return and W-2 statement. In cases of divorce, SSS requires that both parents submit the necessary documents in order to provide LaGrange Academy’s Financial Aid Committee with a full picture of the family resources.

Based on the submitted application SSS makes a recommendation to the Financial Aid Committee. Parents are notified of their tuition financial assistance decision by mail and/or email. The decision is held in the strictest confidence by the committee.

Payment Schedule (applies to full and partial tuition payments):

There are three plans for payment of tuition (for the amount due after payment of the enrollment/reenrollment registration fee of $500).

  1. A lump sum payment due annually by August 1.
  2. Three payments each due by August 1, November 1, and March 1.
  3. Nine monthly payments each due by August 1 through May 1 (excluding February, when reenrollment registration fee is due). Nine month payment schedule includes a monthly finance charge.
